The lithium-ion battery consists of 96 individually laminated cells in a compact package. The laminated cell configuration offers high durability and cooling performance, and the light weight helps improve fuel economy. Lithium-ion technology also uses environmentally friendly materials with no restricted pollutants such as cadmium, lead, or mercury.
