Infiniti Will Support Zabo Racing Team at 2012 UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship in Como Lake; Another Occasion for Infiniti FX Vettel Edition to Meet Up with Italian Car Lovers

• Infiniti will be supporting the Norwegian Zabo Racing Team at the Italian Grand Prix of 2012 UIM Class 1 WORLD Powerboat Championship, taking place on Sept. 21 to 23 on the Como lake. The logo and the name of the luxury Japanese brand will appear on the competitive boat on which Zabo Racing Team counts to end the race on the podium.
• Infiniti will offer to the refined audience of the event the possibility to have a close look of the Infiniti FX Vettel Edition and also to enjoy the hospitality of Infiniti in the dedicated area the brand will have on the Como lake.
• Test drives of Infiniti most iconic model, the FX SUV, and the M35h (the fastest accelerating full hybrid car of the world according to the Guinness World Record) will be accessible for the visitors of the event.

ROLLE, Switzerland - After its Italian debut in Milan, the Infiniti FX Vettel Edition will make its appearance in occasion of another cool event on the Como lake, Italian Grand Prix of 2012 UIM Class 1 WORLD Powerboat Championship.

The logo and the name of Infiniti will appear on the Zabo Racing team’s boat, one of most competitive boats involved in the demanding off-shore race that will animate the Como lake from Sept. 21 to 23.

The refined guests of the event will have the chance of a close contact with the final version of the most exclusive FX ever. For the eager customers, this event is part of a money-can’t-buy experience that takes one of Infiniti’s brand pillars ¬– hospitality towards its customers – to new heights.

The Italian distributor of Infiniti, Fassina S.p.A., is looking forward to welcoming the guests in the Infiniti dedicated area on the Como lake. Since the launch in 2008, Fassina S.p.A. opened 5 centers in Italy, in Milan, Rome, Padua, Bologna, Florence.

Customer deliveries of FX Vettel Edition commence in the first quarter of 2013. Of the strictly-limited 50 cars for Western Europe 15 already have customer names on.

The FX Vettel Edition will not only be one of 2013’s most exclusive new performance cars but also one of the most focused, with the production cars being virtually identical to the concept version.

Featuring an aerodynamics package developed in collaboration with Red Bull Racing, the FX Vettel Edition can claim both sleeker aerodynamics (drag is reduced by 5%) and, with the optional rear spoiler fitted, more rear downforce (an additional 30%). Other numbers confirmed by Infiniti include an upgrade of the 5.0-liter V8 to 420PS (up from 390PS) with torque of 520Nm, making it the most powerful Infiniti ever sold in Europe. It will sound as good as it goes thanks to a special exhaust system.   

Carbon-fiber parts enhance the package further while the increased downforce and lowered, stiffer suspension ensure handling and stability are exactly what the World Champion ordered.
Inside, each FX Vettel Edition is re-trimmed in Alcantara® with purple stitching. The rooflining is also Alcantara® while trim inserts are in carbon-fiber.  Standard features will be as for the FX50S Premium, already one of the best-equipped SUVs available and a car known for its sophisticated technology, lightweight components and features such as Rear Active Steering for maximum agility.

The FX Vettel Edition costs from €120,000 (depending on country) and first deliveries will be in early 2013. Every FX Vettel Edition owner will be Infiniti’s guest at a range of excusive events, all part of an automotive experience that money can’t buy. Ramping up the sense of occasion for the FX Vettel Edition owner still further will be bespoke test drives and special customer handover celebrations.

Next appearance of FX Vettel Edition will be at the coming Paris Motor Show, starting on Sept. 27th.
