Infiniti Registers Highest Emotional Attachment Among Car Brands!

Do you love your car? Like, really love your car? How about your iPhone? According to Forbes, a group called New Media Metrics has a way to quantify just how much you adore your devices, and how that emotional connection determines your purchasing behavior.

The metric is called Leveraging Emotional Attachment for Profit, or LEAP, and just like it sounds, it measures how much we love products. That affection will likely lead to purchase to fill that attachment. The LEAP index began in 2010, and for the first two year the iPod topped the list, only to be unseated by the iPhone this year. Tech is a key factor as these devices have become extensions of ourselves.

The top automaker on this list, and ranked third overall, is the Infiniti brand. Its high ranking speaks to the significance of technology in the LEAP index. While many automakers offer a wealth of in-car tech, for Infiniti, it's a defining characteristic. Features like the around-view monitor and real-time traffic and weather updates have become key selling points for the Japanese luxury brand.

Singapore Grand Prix: Seb Sparkles at the Night Race

Car 1 SEBASTIAN VETTEL, Finish Position: WINNER! Start Position: 3rd
"It's great to get the win today. I'd like to dedicate it to Professor Sid Watkins. It's thanks to all the work he did to bring safety advancements to the sport that we can race on circuits like this. Looking to the race, Lewis had to retire which is a shame for him. I know how it feels and have been in that position before. I think we could have had a tight battle. I felt very good on the harder tires and we had a lot of pace. I think it's very good to get this win here today. We know the next few races will be tough, but that's the challenge."

Car 2 MARK WEBBER, Finish Position: 11th, Start Position: 7th
(Mark finished 10th, but a drive-through penalty was given after the race for leaving the track and gaining an advantage)
"I wasn't too bad pace wise. The strategy was going all right, but the second safety car really hurt us and put us to the back of the queue. Around here, fighting and looking after your tires is a bit of a mess. It's a shame. Sebastian got some good points for the Team, so that's good and I'm just looking forward now to the next few races. I like Suzuka, so I'm looking forward to that."

CHRISTIAN HORNER, Team Principal
"A tremendous result for Sebastian and the Team to win in Singapore. It's a timely win for both Championships. It was unfortunate for Lewis to retire from the lead, we know how that feels and it's never a good feeling. Nonetheless Sebastian's had tremendous pace all weekend and it's a shame in some respects, as I'm sure they'd have had a great race over the remainder of the grand prix. With Mark, we elected to go onto a three-stop strategy and it was working reasonably well; there was the first safety car and, having just made a stop we knew we couldn't get to the end on those tires, so we made a gamble and stayed out. Then his strategy was destroyed with the second safety car, caused by the Schumacher and Vergne incident. We had to pit him from there to get him to the end of the race, which dropped him back. His recovery from there was strong."

CYRIL DUMONT, Renault
"It was a good way to recover after the last race result. We had the pace we expected today and it was good to convert the momentum that we had shown in the practice sessions. For Mark, it was a difficult race. Being in traffic is never easy here, but he did some good overtaking. For Sebastian – to win here you have to do the perfect race and Seb did it. Now we have to keep the momentum for the final six races."

2013 Infiniti M Sedan Receives 5-Star Overall NCAP Rating

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Infiniti today announced that the 2013 Infiniti M luxury sedan has been awarded a 5-Star overall safety rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) under the agency's New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). The 5-Star Safety Ratings System is designed to provide consumers with information about the crash protection and rollover safety of new vehicles. Five stars is the highest possible rating. NHTSA is the only organization that rates rollover resistance.

"Infiniti's Inspired Performance encompasses the total design of our vehicles, including our goal to provide a secure, confidence-inspiring environment for driver and passengers. The NHTSA 5-Star NCAP rating is an important third-party validation of these efforts," said Infiniti Americas Vice President Ben Poore. "We're also proud of Infiniti's ongoing industry leadership in advanced safety technologies such as Blind Spot Intervention, Lane Departure Prevention, Forward Collision Warning and the new Backup Collision Intervention that was just introduced on the all-new Infiniti JX luxury crossover."

All 2013 Infiniti M models come equipped with standard Infiniti Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) with dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt sensors and occupant classification sensor, standard front seat-mounted side impact supplemental air bags, and standard roof-mounted curtain side impact supplemental air bags for front and rear-seat outboard occupant head protection.

The Infiniti M also includes standard 3-point seat belts with Automatic Locking Retractor and Emergency Locking Retractor (driver's seat only), front seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters, front seat Active Head Restraints with 4-way manual adjustments, along with Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones and LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tether for Children).

2013 Infiniti M Safety and Security Features
The 2013 Infiniti M is available with a number of innovative technologies, including Infiniti's Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) systems. The LDW and LDP systems use a small camera installed behind the windshield to detect lane markers in front of the vehicle, calculate its position relative to those lane markers and warn the driver of a potential unintended lane departure with a visual display and audible buzzer. If the driver does not return the vehicle back toward the center of the travel lane, the LDP system assists the driver with a gentle application of the brakes.

Also offered are Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Blind Spot Intervention® (BSI) systems, which are available as part of the Technology Package. BSW illuminates an indicator light if another vehicle is detected in the blind spot area. If the driver then uses the turn signal, the indicator flashes and an audible warning sounds. BSI is another world-first safety feature from Infiniti and takes blind spot technology to the next level. If the vehicle gets close to the lane marker and another vehicle is detected in the blind spot area, the indicator flashes, an audible warning sounds, and selective braking is applied to one side of the vehicle to help the driver bring the vehicle back to the center of the driving lane. BSI operates regardless of turn signal usage.  Other available safety features include Intelligent Brake Assist with Forward Collision Warning and Front Pre-Crash Seat Belts.

Infiniti also developed Snug Kids, an industry-first program geared specifically toward safety for children in child restraints. Infiniti safety engineers spent thousands of hours evaluating hundreds of child restraints by installing them in all the rear seats of current Infiniti vehicles.  The result is the Snug Kids Child Safety Seat Fit Guide, which helps parents confidently select a child restraint that fits their vehicle while also providing valuable tips on the proper fit of a child restraint. The Snug Kids Child Safety Seat Fit Guides for all Infiniti vehicles are available at InfinitiUSA.com.

The 2013 Infiniti M lineup includes the Infiniti M56 and M37 luxury sedans and Infiniti M Hybrid. Every 2013 Infiniti vehicle also comes with Infiniti Personal Assistant, a unique personal concierge service providing owners with 24-hour access to live assistants no matter where they are.

SPA SPECTACULAR: Red Bull Racing extends lead in Constructors’

Car 1 SEBASTIAN VETTEL, Finish Position: 2nd, Start Position: 10th
"I'm happy with that today. Qualifying wasn't as we planned it to be yesterday, but today the car seemed to be back to as we know it. The start was poor; I think I was the only one not to gain positions through the first corners, so we had to fight our way back, which wasn't easy, but I enjoyed it a lot. The strategy worked perfectly for us and we had the pace, which was the best thing about today. The car worked well and we didn't struggle. Congratulations to Jenson and Mclaren on the win. We've got a lot of back to backs this season and I'm looking forward to Monza later this week. We had a great race there last year - it's always a great atmosphere and we'll be pushing hard."

Car 2 MARK WEBBER, Finish Position: 6th, Start Position: 12th
"The start was pretty wild, which can happen at La Source. We settled into a race, but it became obvious quite early on that it was difficult for us to overtake. Obviously Seb and I had a little battle, which was fine – but after that, it just wasn't possible to fight other people on the straight line, so that made it tough. We tried to under-cut some people and roll the dice... I had Petrov on the out lap, which is fair play to him as he's just doing his thing, but we lost time there. We had a bit of luck at the start, but after that we didn't get the most out of the situation – but it was good to finish six places higher than I started and get points."

CHRISTIAN HORNER, Team Principal:
"A great recovery - we had strong race pace. We didn't plan a one stop, but we managed to make it work well with Sebastian once we got around the half way mark. His overtaking was excellent and our guys even went wheel to wheel on occasion, which was good and fair. To go from tenth to second was a great recovery. With Mark, we were hoping for more but I think our selection of top gear was probably a bit short today and it penalised him a bit when he was overtaking at the top of the hill. But, nonetheless he's scored good points; I think in clear air he would have been very quick, but he was in traffic for most of the race. So overall, after a disappointing Saturday it was a positive Sunday."

CYRIL DUMONT, Renault:
"A great recovery - if someone had offered me this result yesterday, I would have signed for it immediately. The start was not so good, but the strategy worked well and the pace of the car was strong. I think the most important thing is that we scored some important points in both Championships. We extend the lead in the Constructors' and both drivers got closer to Alonso in the Drivers."

ROLLE, Switzerland - Representing a bold next stage in Infiniti's quest for performance luxury motoring in the most sustainable way possible, the Infiniti LE Concept is a true Infiniti with just one thing missing - a tailpipe. Making its European debut at the Paris Motor Show on September 27 in Hall 1, stand 224, the LE Concept will line up alongside the award-winning Infiniti sports car concept and M35h production hybrid in a powerful display of "no compromise" performance motoring.

"The Infiniti LE Concept is a 'production intent' concept and most of what you see will become a reality," said Bernard Loire, Vice President of Infiniti Europe, Middle East, India and Africa "It is too early to confirm exactly when and where it will go on sale, but we are heartened by recent moves to encourage electric cars, such as France raising the purchase incentive from €5000 to €7000 per car. It is fitting that the LE Concept should make its European debut in Paris."

"Infiniti believes the future of luxury lies in sustainable luxury and we intend to continue taking a leadership role to achieve it," added Loire.

INFINITI'S PARIS MOTOR SHOW STARS IN DETAIL

Infiniti LE Concept
Combining driving appeal with zero emissions in a dramatically-styled compact saloon body, the all-electric LE Concept is being shown in Paris with a pledge that a production version will be on sale in selected markets in around two years' time. The showroom model will not only share the LE Concept's advanced powertrain but also much of its design character - one that shouts "dynamic luxury" rather than "electric vehicle".  Also in line for production are its highly crafted cabin and user-friendly technology - including the possibility of a ground-breaking wireless recharging system.

An all-new design, the four-door saloon body combines dynamism and elegance with signature Infiniti design cues and the latest Infiniti design language. The proportions are typically well balanced, the high rear deck injecting a sensation of movement. Up front, there's the expected double-arch grille but here featuring a charging port hidden beneath the illuminated centre Infiniti emblem. The LED headlights and taillights echo the design direction of Infiniti's recent concepts, as do the crescent-cut rear pillar and strong shoulder line to express flowing movement. Front spoiler, rear diffuser and side aero fins - all glowing with integrated illumination - contribute to an impressive Cd (drag coefficient) of 0.25.

At around 4.7m long, the LE Concept is a similar size to the Infiniti G Saloon, supporting Infiniti's belief that zero emissions does not have to mean small. Nor does it mean plain: the cabin is that of a true luxury car, capitalizing on the silence of the electric drivetrain to provide a tranquil ride at all speeds. Next-generation instrumentation and connectivity are previewed by LE Concept, but being an Infiniti, hospitality - evidenced by its soft lighting, excellent visibility and welcoming openness - is just as important.

The LE Concept does not compromise either on roominess or comfort. The advanced packaging solution of placing the lithium-ion batteries under the floor not only provides a no-compromise approach to luggage and passenger room, but also contributes to the vehicle's low center of gravity, enhancing handling.

Staying true to the Infiniti creed of Inspired Performance, the LE Concept is designed to stimulate rather than sedate on the road. This is achieved by a high performance electric motor with 100kW (134PS), along with 325Nm (240lb ft) of torque instantly available. The target for the engineers was "impressive EV acceleration without sacrificing the range", expected to be around 160km. A sculpted shift knob controls the drive system, which offers several driving modes, while a center cluster shows information, such as a dynamic range calculator, in a mix of digital and analogue displays.

The battery system is a proven laminated 24 kWh lithium-ion (Li-ion) design with a ChaDeMo DC50kW quick charger that can deliver an 80% charge in 30 minutes. Other charging options being looked at include an innovative home-based Wireless Charging System. This uses a coil safely encased in the charging pad to charge the battery via inductive energy flow. The Intelligent Park Assist feature will automatically align the vehicle over the charging pad for optimum charging and the driver can walk away, with no cables to connect. The high-frequency, non-contact charging, controlled by the car's display or by smartphone, is safe for children and pets and can be installed easily in a home garage.

"A luxury car for a new generation of sustainable luxury buyers must not compromise on performance. Buyers want 'green,' but won't settle for any aspect of the driving experience being less than that of their current luxury vehicles," said Bernard Loire.

The LE Concept's zero emissions credentials and pure approach to luxury define a new class of compact premium electric vehicles that Infiniti intends to lead when a production version goes on sale, scheduled for 2014.

Infiniti Emerg-e concept
The Paris show will be the first public appearance of the Emerg-e concept since being nominated as one of the winners in the concept category of the Automotive Brand Contest, an important international design competition organized by the German Design Council.

The award reinforces the acclaim, which followed the car's premiere at the Geneva Motor Show earlier in the year and the dynamic debut of a fully-functioning prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Infiniti Emerg-e is the ultimate expression of Infiniti's inspired performance. This 402bhp (300kW) mid-engine, twin motor, electric motors powered sports car is capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in just four seconds - and from zero to 130mph in a single, seamless 30-second burst. It signals an array of exciting new technologies that the brand will adopt in its quest to build dramatic and sustainable high performance cars. Infiniti Emerg-e also provides a fresh expression of Infiniti's design language applied to a potential high performance, mid-ship sports car for the first time.

Infiniti M35 Hybrid
Alongside the Emerg-e concept on the stand and summing up Infiniti's no-compromise approach in production form, the M35h is being shown in Paris in its latest, even cleaner guise with 159g/km of CO2 - while still able to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 5.5 seconds, making it the world's fastest accelerating hybrid saloon, as recorded by Guinness World Records.

Infiniti FX Vettel Edition & RBR F1 car
Performance of a more traditional kind - courtesy of a 420PS 5.0-liter V8 - will be displayed in Paris thanks to a rare public sighting of probably the most exclusive crossover ever made, the Infiniti FX Vettel Edition, developed in association with Formula One Double World Champion Sebastian Vettel. Just 50 examples have been made available for Western Europe, costing from €120,000 (depending on country), with many already spoken for.

Fittingly the only other car with Sebastian's name on - his Infiniti-partnered Red Bull Racing F1 car - will also be on show on the Infiniti stand.

European-Model Infiniti G, EX and FX
Completing Infiniti's display in Paris will be the extravagantly well equipped Premium versions of the FX30d luxury SUV and EX30d crossover, both powered by Infiniti's highly efficient and torque-rich 3.0-litre diesel V6.

The Infiniti G range will be represented by the G37 Cabriolet, the two-door sports coupe with all features as standard, including a potent and musical V6 engine and electrically retractable hard-top for a seductive open-air driving experience.

Infiniti EMERG-E Scores Another First

ROLLE, Switzerland - Infiniti Emerg-e, the brand's first range-extended, mid-engined electric sports car concept, has won a prestigious award from the German Design Council. The concept car, launched at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year to global acclaim, was today announced as the winner in the Concepts category of the Automotive Brand Contest 2012, the international competition for automotive brands and now a major industry event.

The award, which will be presented in a ceremony at the Mondial de L'Automobile, Paris on 27th September, recognizes excellence and innovation in product design, and celebrates the brand's fresh, fluent design approach, expressed in the highly aerodynamic curves of the Infiniti Emerg-e.

This is the latest milestone to be achieved by this highly advanced sports car, physical proof of Infiniti's intention to produce a bold halo model befitting the brand's promise of Inspired Performance. In June, a fully functioning prototype version of the Infiniti Emerg-e made its bold global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, driven by Red Bull Racing Formula 1 driver, Mark Webber.

Infiniti Emerg-e provides an exciting glimpse into Infiniti's future and features an array of exciting new technologies that the brand will adopt in its quest to build dramatic and sustainable high performance cars. The first Infiniti to be developed in Europe, the concept has evolved through Infiniti's partnership with the UK government's Technology Strategy Board initiative, whose aim is to speed the arrival of low carbon vehicles to our roads. The partial-funding from the TSB has significantly deepened the resource that the Infiniti can draw upon in the development of Emerg-e and technology relevant for the future of the automobile.

The World's first Infiniti Flagship Plus Store Opens in Beijing to Serve Chinese Customers with Excellent Hospitality

BEIJING, China - Infiniti opened its first global Flagship Plus Store in Beijing last week at a grand ceremony attended by Mr. Shiro Nakamura, Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. and Infiniti; Mr. Allen Lu, Managing Director of Infiniti Business Unit China (IBU China); and other dignitaries and guests.

As the first luxury car brand to have its global benchmark store launched in China, Infiniti has once again demonstrated its commitment to the China market.

Mr. Shiro Nakamura said: "Infiniti's choice of China as the launch-pad for the benchmark Flagship Plus Store demonstrates our global development strategy which puts China at the very core. The conceptual design of the Flagship Plus Store embodies state-of-the-art architecture and materials with attentative Infiniti hospitality in a luxurious atmosphere that will not only boost Infiniti brand awareness and our service standards, but also will further improve customer satisfaction. The Flagship Plus Store concept will contribute to the development of Infiniti in China as well as in the rest of the world."

The Flagship Plus Store sets Infiniti's service benchmark of Excellent Hospitality, which will be promoted worldwide. "Every Infiniti customer deserves the best from Infiniti," commented Mr. Allen Lu, "Infiniti is dedicated to providing customers with vehicles which embody inspired performance and with service which provides exceptional hospitality; two elements which are key to our success. This year, we will open another three Flagship Plus Stores in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu, further driving Infiniti's development in China." added Mr. Lu.

Situated in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, Infiniti Flagship Plus Store provides customers with the convenience of a one-stop shopping experience, while delivering the brand culture and essence.

The store design is stylish and artistic, inside and out: the front courtyard is adorned with glass pebbles inspired by rippling water surfaces, while the facade is shaped like a giant, curved, steel grille resembling a big sail. High-grade materials are carefully applied to the building with wood, stone, steel and glass blending smoothly and seamlessly. The vehicle display area is fashioned in a gallery style to create an artistic environment in which customers can appreciate the beauty of the Infiniti cars.

Much of the ground floor is open, ingeniously partitioned into multiple function areas. The 'Feature Vehicle Display' showcases the stunning Infiniti concept cars, giving customers the opportunity to view the new Infiniti technologies and trend at close range. The stylish 'Inspired Wall' features an HD display which shows exciting Infiniti videos. The Infiniti 'Merchandising Wall' showcases accessories jointly developed with other brands reflecting Infiniti's lifestyle advocates, such as the F1 Red Bull Racing Team limited edition souvenirs, delicate suitcase & watch cooperated with Luis Vuitton & Bell & Ross separately. The 'Performance Gallery' provides a private space for customers to review and personalize their Infiniti specification. The 'After-sales Service Area' is a see-through space behind glass walls where customers can take a rest in the lounge while watching the entire car service/maintenance process. The Adeyaka Lounge, meanwhile, designed in accord with Adeyaka elements, provides in-depth customized services and a "new luxury" environment for Infiniti customers.

Incorporated in the Flagship Plus Store is a multi-functional Infiniti Training Centre which will provide comprehensive staff training in hospitality, technical services and sales. Infiniti is pioneering the introduction of 'First Class service' to the store, with a hospitality training program run by a professional agency of All Nippon Airways (ANA) - the world leader in air travel hospitality.

The Infiniti Flagship Plus Store opening coincides with IBU China's 2nd anniversary. Since July 2010, IBU China has achieved rapid growth in China: sales have increased more than 60% annually, the number of dealers has reached 60, and the full model line-up has been introduced. In addition, a variety of creative experiential marketing activities is helping significantly to increase Infiniti brand awareness in China, which is now Infiniti's second largest market.

The Infiniti Flagship Plus Store in China is a powerful engine for Infiniti development, the daring Challenger, which is carving out a new position in the market place.

Infiniti and Red Bull Racing British Grand Prix: Double Podium Fueled by 25,000 Fans on the Cars

Car 2 MARK WEBBER, Finish Position: WINNER! Start Position: 2nd
“It’s taking a while to sink in this one. I think it was the circumstances of the race – for most of it I was marking off second place. Fernando was not quite out of touch and after the last stop, my engineer Ciaron came on the radio saying that Fernando was not doing much on the option tyres. But I know Fernando is a wily old fox, I thought he was looking after the tyres and just waiting to pull the pin and go a little bit. But when I got within two seconds I thought maybe he’s in a little bit of trouble and it was real. It was completely game on when I knew the DRS was available, I made the move stick and our hard work paid off for the win. It was a cracking grand prix today; the spectators got to see a good race and I’m pleased for them.”

Car 1 SEBASTIAN VETTEL, Finish Position: 3rd, Start Position: 4th
“It was a tough day today. The start was not so good. I lost a little bit and then got stuck behind Michael, but had a good strategy to come back. We decided to pit early and we came out ahead, so that was a good call. I would be a bit happier if we had won today, but it was a great result for the team, I am happy. We’re just down the road, so it’s our local race. It’s good it didn’t rain, I saw some clouds coming and it might have helped my race, but I was very happy for the people in the grandstands. I think they appreciated it staying dry. It’s been a tough weekend for them with rain, a lot of traffic and not so much driving from our side due to too much water – but I think we made up for that today.”

CHRISTIAN HORNER, Team Principal:
“An unbelievable day for the team. Starting the race, our strategy was slightly different to Ferrari with Fernando opting to start with the harder tyre, but we knew we could make our strategy work if we stuck to our plan. That was made slightly complicated by Felipe getting ahead of Sebastian at the start but then we were aggressive with the first stop and got Seb into clear air, which elevated him up the order. We then pushed as far as we could go on the option tyre with Mark, knowing that our time would come later in the race. After very strong middle stints from both drivers, we knew going into that final stint that we had a great chance and Mark started to catch Fernando, sometimes as much as a second per lap. He then made a fantastic manouvre around the outside which got him into the lead with four laps to go and he closed it out in style. Sebastian unfortunately ran out of laps. He was catching Fernando very quickly, but to have both driers up on the podium just up the road from the factory with so many members of the team here is great. We also had 25,000 pictures on each car supporting Wings for Life this weekend, which has raised a million Euros for the charity. So, after a tough start to the weekend, the sun finally shone for the fans and the team and it was a fantastic team result.”

CYRIL DUMONT, Renault:
“It was a close to perfect weekend. I’m pleased for Red Bull to win this race. Mark did a perfect race, I think he never stopped pushing. Seb almost got the one two today, but we got a double podium. Engine wise I’m pretty pleased that we didn’t suffer any of the issues we saw in Valencia and everything was under control today.”

Cliff Diving Stars Choose Infiniti

BULGARIA - The cliff diving superstar Orlando Duque and the best Bulgarian diver Todor Spasov chose Infiniti FX30d as transport for Red Bull Cliff Search.

Nine-time world champion Orlando Duque came to Bulgaria for the ambitious Red Bull Cliff Search project. Apart from trying the best cliffs in Bulgaria, Duque tested the inspired performance of Infiniti FX30d on the narrow roads from the city of Balchik to Tyulenovo village. The Colombian was impressed by the vehicle, supplied by Vitosha Auto especially for the event, and wished to drive it on the long way back to the capital city of Sofia.

"Soon I will need to buy a new car and change my pickup in Hawaii, where I live. Why not buy an Infiniti FX as my next car? I am really impressed. That is one of the most powerful cars that I have ever driven. You can feel the response and the acceleration; it is so stable in the corners. I am a relaxed driver behind the steering wheel and I value comfort, so the FX is a perfect choice for me," said Orlando Duque.

Spasov also tested the Infiniti FX30d and was very delighted by the sporty handling of the vehicle, especially with paddle shift operated gearbox.

In search of the perfect cliff for the Red Bull Cliff Search project, Orlando Duque tried three destinations in Bulgaria - Wonderful Rocks in Varna region, and two rocks near Tyulenovo. The rock arch near Tyulenovo took its place in the impressive number of nature landmarks which are part of the Red Bull Cliff Search project.

The Northern Black Sea coast gave Duque and his Bulgarian colleague Todor Spasov a tough challenge. With water temperature of just 16 degrees Celsius they jumped without neoprene suits. The strong north-eastern wind caused a stormy sea, which impeded the mission for making the perfect jump.

Orlando and Todor made a couple of jumps from 15 meters height, managing to keep away from underwater rocks. The insidious shallows are really hard to surround and present one of the greatest dangers in cliff diving. As Todor Spasov said, "The terrain in Tyulenovo is very similar to one of the emblematic destinations in Red Bull Cliff Diving - Greece. The nature of the rocks is similar, but there is no arch there. The most important thing in the second day of the event was to be extremely precise, because you need to jump in a hole with 2 meters diameter, surrounded by underwater rocks."

Orlando Duque has nine world championship titles and two Red Bull Cliff Diving crowns to his name and counting. He has also been immortalized in the film 9 Dives which includes the highest jump of his career to date - a 34-metre descent off a bridge in Italy. Duque also made it into the Guinness Book of World Records when he achieved a perfect 10 at the 2000 world championships.

Infiniti to EMERG-E with A World First at Goodwood

ROLLE, Switzerland - An "Inspired Performance" is guaranteed at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed (June 28 - July 1), the first year that Infiniti, the performance luxury automotive brand from Japan, is acting as an Official Sponsor of the UK's iconic motoring and motorsport celebration.

Making its world debut on the hillclimb will be the first running prototype of the UK-designed and built range-extender concept, Infiniti EMERG-E - surely the planet's most beautiful hybrid sports car as well as one of the most forward-thinking.

Jerry Hardcastle, Global Chief Marketability Engineer, commented: "The Festival of Speed crowds will be seeing EMERG-E in action for the first time ever, even before many of Infiniti's top executives have seen it. Goodwood's spectators will see not just an exquisite design but an example of our and our partners' technologies for an environmentally-friendly car brimming with true Infiniti driver appeal."

Also powering up the Earl of March's driveway will be the Infiniti FX Vettel Edition - certainly the world's most exclusive SUV with just 50 units confirmed for Europe. Lighter and more aerodynamic, with 30% higher downforce, the 420PS FX Vettel Edition is virtually unchanged from the Frankfurt Motor Show concept and ranks as Infiniti's most powerful car as well as its most expensive (circa €120,000/£100,000 ). This will be the first chance to see the FX Vettel Edition in action ahead of deliveries which begin in the first quarter of 2013. Be quick, 7 have already been sold.

Taking pride of place in the FoS-Tech arena will be the Infiniti M35h hybrid - the world's fastest-accelerating hybrid saloon. According to Guinness World Records anyway.

As usual Infiniti will be doing things just that bit differently from everyone else, making full use of the English garden party atmosphere to showcase Infiniti hospitality - one of the brand's pillars - as well as thrilling the crowds with some of the world-class superstars from road and track that define Infiniti's passion for performance.

There could be only one man of course to drive the FX Vettel edition up the hill: F1 double World Champion, Sebastian Vettel. Sebastian is scheduled to demonstrate the Infiniti that bears his personal stamp, as well as his name, before the Goodwood crowds on Saturday. Red Bull Racing team-mate Mark Webber is scheduled to drive the EMERG-E on the Sunday.

And in the welcoming luxury of the Inspired Performance Lounge - uniquely located between the Supercar Paddock and Goodwood House - will be another world champion that sums up the brand: the Infiniti-sponsored Red Bull Racing RB7 that took both Red Bull Racing and Sebastian Vettel to Formula One Championship titles in 2011.

"Like the Festival of Speed, Infiniti is driven by performance which is why it is a pleasure for us to take a leading role in this year's event, especially with three cars that embody Infiniti in such an exciting way," said Bernard Loire, Vice President Infiniti Europe, Africa and Middle East.

The Earl of March, Festival of Speed founder, added: "I am delighted to welcome Infiniti to the Goodwood family, with its distinctive and highly-original way of showcasing its products and brand philosophy. I am proud that Infiniti has chosen the Festival of Speed to dynamically debut exciting products such as the FX Vettel edition and EMERG-E concept globally as well," he added.

As well as display cars, Infiniti's Inspired Performance Lounge will feature 'Value Added,' the third prize winner from the Infiniti Digital Art Competition, along with photographs by Jacques Cochin - all in a relaxing environment that extends the hospitality of the brand's unique Infiniti Centres to all of Goodwood's visitors.

Infiniti Ranked #1 in Total Car Score's "Top 10 Best Car Brands for 2012"

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Total Car Score, a leading automotive ranking and comparison website, today announced Infiniti as the number one scoring brand on its listing of the "Top 10 Best Car Brands for 2012."  The study, which focuses on the strength of a brand's overall product range, is based on numerical ratings for 2012 model year vehicles by independent automotive media and reviewers.  Infiniti vehicles averaged a Total Car Score of 82.09.  Infiniti was followed by Mercedes-Benz, Buick, Aud1 and Lexus.

"The list provides a data-driven assessment of which automakers are producing the most desirable, highest quality cars, crossovers, SUVs and pickup trucks," said Total Car Score Editor in Chief Karl Brauer in announcing the results.

"Ranking first in the Total Car Score Top 10 is validation of our efforts to produce a total lineup of Inspired Performance vehicles, not just one or two great cars," said Infiniti Americas Vice President Ben Poore.  "Infiniti has always maintained one of the freshest, most dynamic product lineups in the industry and it's heartening to receive this important acknowledgment by Total Car Score."

The 2012 Infiniti lineup includes the Infiniti M luxury sedan and Infiniti M Hybrid; Infiniti G Sedan, Coupe, Convertible and IPL G Coupe; Infiniti FX performance luxury crossover; Infiniti EX crossover; and Infiniti QX full-size luxury SUV.  In addition, Infiniti recently launched two new 2013 models – the 3-row/7-passenger Infiniti JX luxury crossover and the IPL G Convertible.  All of these vehicles are available now at Infiniti retailers nationwide.  Every Infiniti vehicle also comes with Infiniti Personal Assistant, a unique personal concierge service providing owners with 24-hour access to live assistants no matter where they are.

Following is a more detailed overview of Infiniti products for the 2013 model year:

2013 Infiniti JX
The all-new Infiniti JX offers real 3-row utility, plus all the premium features, performance and innovations that Infiniti has become known for worldwide.  The breakthrough JX design offers excellent legroom in all three rows and ample cargo room behind the 3rd row.  In addition, an innovative multi-mode middle seat design provides entry to the 3rd row without removing a 2nd row child seat.

The JX also continues Infiniti’s tradition of developing world’s first technologies with the introduction of the Back-Up Collision Intervention™ (BCI) system.  With this technology, when the transmission is in reverse, the JX will help the driver detect crossing vehicles, as well as objects behind the vehicle, and, if necessary, the system can automatically engage the brakes to help avoid a collision.

Among the other advanced standard or available technology found throughout the new JX are Infiniti Connection™ with Google CalendarTM, Drive Zone/Speed Alert and Infiniti Personal Assistant; Around View® Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD); Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP); Intelligent Cruise Control (Full-Speed Range); Distance Control Assist (DCA); Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW); Active Trace Control; Front Pre-Crash Seat Belts; and a Bose® Cabin Surround® 15-speaker sound system with digital 5.1-channel decoding and new Acoustic Waveguide subwoofer.

Offered in both front-wheel drive and with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, the JX features a standard 265-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC V6 mated to a sport-tuned Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) to provide high responsiveness and seamless, efficient shifting feel.  The CVT can mimic a step transmission when the Sport mode of the Infiniti drive selector is engaged.  The CVT design also features a wide gear ratio and low friction design.

Fuel economy is rated at 24 mpg Highway, 18 mpg City and a real-world 21 mpg Combined for the FWD model and 23 mpg Highway, 18 mpg City and 20 mpg Combined for the AWD model – while still offering the power to carry a full load or passengers and cargo.

The 2013 JX is offered in two fully equipped models – Infiniti JX35 FWD and Infiniti JX35 AWD – and is assembled in Smyrna, Tenn.

2013 Infiniti M
For the 2013 model year, the Infiniti M Sedan is again offered in five well-equipped performance luxury models – M37 RWD, M37x AWD, M56 RWD, M56x AWD and M35h RWD with 3.5-liter Direct Response Hybrid™ System.  It is on sale now at Infiniti retailers nationwide.

The M37 features a 330-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine, while the M56 offers a 420-horsepower 5.6-liter V8.  Both engines feature Infiniti’s advanced VVEL (Variable Valve Event & Lift) system and all models are equipped with a standard 7-speed automatic transmission.  Both the M37 and M56 are available with rear-wheel drive or Infiniti’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system.  A special Sport Package, available for the first time on AWD and RWD models, includes 4-Wheel Active Steer (4WAS) on RWD only, sport-tuned suspension, Sport Brakes and 20-inch wheels and tires.

The Infiniti M Hybrid delivers V8 performance with 4-cylinder fuel efficiency.  Powered by the Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid™ System, it is the first V6 true luxury performance “driver’s” hybrid – and the only such vehicle to offer more than 350 horsepower (360 net horsepower) and 32 mpg fuel economy.  Estimated fuel economy is 27 mpg City, 32 mpg Highway, with combined fuel economy rated at 29 mpg.

All five 2013 Infiniti M models once again combine dramatic sports exterior styling with a roomy, comfortable interior environment that features standard leather-appointed seating, standard Japanese Ash wood trim or available silver powdered genuine White Ash wood trim and available premium audio and climate control systems.  Key standard features include Infiniti Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, SiriusXM Satellite Radio (SiriusXM Satellite Radio subscription required, sold separately), Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System and power sliding glass tinted moonroof.

The 2013 Infiniti M remains a showcase for Infiniti’s advanced, user-focused technologies, including:
–    Infiniti Drive Mode Selector, a four-mode driver-selectable control of throttle and transmission mapping that helps optimize vehicle performance.
–    Active Noise Control, which reduces undesirable engine harmonics, providing a quieter cabin.
–    Blind Spot Warning (BSW), which helps alert the driver if another vehicle is detected in the blind spot area; Blind Spot Intervention® (BSI), a world’s first system that, in addition to the Blind Spot Warning, helps the driver return the vehicle back toward the center of the lane of travel.
–    Forest Air® system, which helps reduce the intrusion of unpleasant odors into the cabin and provides natural “breeze-like” airflow.
–    Eco Pedal, which provides driver feedback to encourage eco-driving behavior
